MN STATE SENATOR SCOTT DIBBLE (60) AND OUTFRONT MN ACTION ENDORSE SUSAN ALLEN FOR 61B SEAT

Minneapolis, MN—The campaign of Susan Allen announced today that she has won the endorsements of Minnesota State Senator Scott Dibble (60) and OutFront Minnesota Action in the special election to fill the 61B seat left vacant by the election of Representative Jeff Hayden to the Minnesota Senate.

“Susan Allen is a fighter. She’s proven herself as an effective leader, strong community advocate and expert negotiator. These skills will serve District 61B very well at the State Capitol. I see the right mix of intelligence, drive and, most importantly, concern for the well-being of people that will make her a great legislator. She will bring a powerful voice to the fight for full LGBT rights, racial equality and fairness for all the people of her district and the state,” said Sen. Scott Dibble.

OutFront Minnesota Action also announced its endorsement of Allen today.  “Susan Allen is an outstanding candidate. She will be a strong voice for equality for all people at the Capitol. Her commitment to social justice is demonstrated in her professional life and her history of community service, especially in helping provide affordable housing to people living with HIV/AIDS. OutFront Minnesota Action is proud to endorse such a highly qualified candidate who is also a member of the LGBT community,” said Chris Stinson, the Organizing and Policy Director for OutFront Minnesota Action.

Allen, also endorsed by Women Winning, Rep. Karen Clark and Rep. Rena Moran, is seeking the DFL endorsement.  Her background includes professional experience as a tax attorney and consultant on Native American Tribal contracts and governance.  She also serves on the board of directors for a number of local nonprofit organizations.  “I became a lawyer so that I could fight for economic and social justice for those who most need an advocate. Growing up in poverty and living as a Native American woman and member of the LGBT community, I know what it’s like to feel left out of the process.”

  1. If Karen Clark endorses you, Susan, that’s good enough for me! I’ve long admired Karen and the work she’s done in my neighboring district, and I trust her judgement. You have my vote!
