WomenWinning endorses Susan Allen in House 61B race
WomenWinning, the progressive, pro-choice group that encourages women candidates, said today it is endorsing Susan Allen, an attorney, in the House race.
“Women Winning is thrilled to endorse Susan Allen and excited at the prospect of electing the first Native American woman ever to serve in the Minnesota House,” said a statement from Sarah Taylor-Nanista, executive director of Women Winning. “Susan has fought against discrimination due to her race, gender, and membership in the GLBT community, and we are confident her extensive experience and enduring spirit will serve the people of South Minneapolis and our state well.”

What tribe is she?
I caught your interview on the Native Report last night and I was moved and very proud. So glad to hear that there is a native WOMAN in your position. I hope to some day meet you and congratulate you in person. I have always wanted to become a Lawyer and work for the native people too, I have had a lot of curves in my road but hearing stories like yours makes me strive harder. I live in Norther Minnesota near Cloquet, but know that you have mine and my family’s support always.
